LGC Biosearch Technologies is looking for a detail-oriented individual to join its Lab Services team in Middleton, WI, as Extraction Technician. The Technician will support the extraction of DNA material needed for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) at the LGC-Middleton Site (Eagle Drive). The position will also work to meet additional customer and company standards and requirements.

This is a site-based role, with expected working hours during the company's normal hours of operation (8am - 5pm).

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential functions satisfactorily:

• Prepare buffers and solutions used in the extraction of DNA material from plant and animal tissues
• Remove and dispose of liquid and solid waste according to established protocols
• Following procedures and work instructions, extract sufficient gDNA to meet the lab services plan and customer requirements; collaborate with team members to ensure appropriate workflow execution
• Process extraction documentation and record data following approved protocols and using the laboratory information management system
• Support identified process improvement initiatives and corrective actions
• Contribute to an effective, safe, and clean lab environment through various support activities
• Effectively communicate results to the Direct Manager and/or the lab services team
• Diligently learn and follow the requirements of the site’s quality management system
• Adhere to company safety policies, including Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) policy
• Clean and maintain labware and lab materials as needed
• Perform other duties as required or assigned to meet business needs

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent degree
• Proven reliable work ethic, with the ability to follow detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to effectively meet extraction needs
• Must be highly accurate and detail-oriented
• Ability to gather and organize information
• Strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement
• Industry experience in life sciences, biotechnology, or manufacturing organization preferred
• Prior laboratory experience with aseptic technique preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
