SCN BestCo Inc. is currently searching for a Facilities Mechanic, 12-hour Night Shift ($1.00 Shift Premium) to be located at our Mooresville, North Carolina facility.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Engineering and Maintenance Manager(s), ensures the correct operation, repairs, and preventative maintenance schedules of SCN BestCo Inc. office, manufacturing, and distribution facilities. This includes but is not limited to plant lighting systems, HVAC Units and environmental control systems, general housekeeping items, floors, plumbing systems, roll-up and man doors (interior and exterior), boilers and associated pumps, valves and controls, chillers and associated pumps, valves and controls, air compressors and associated filtration equipment and controls, fire suppression systems and associated alarm devices and controls, plant waste water correction equipment and controls, in addition to general facilities repair and maintenance.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
- Maintains daily check-off log of utilities/facility equipment
- Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and perform needed repairs
- Performs electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools
- Performs plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.)
- Performs painting, carpentry and masonry work
- Maintain overhead lighting systems
- Inspects and corrects all exterior door mechanics and seals
- Executes preventive maintenance activities associated with the plant facility
- Maintains interior and exterior roll-up doors
- Perform required tasks during the absence of the Utilities Mechanic
- Perform task required during the absence of the Waste Water Plant Attendant
- Perform other duties as assigned by Engineering/Maintenance Manager or Engineering Supervisor
- Helps trouble shoot over the phone/radio on the back shifts when needed
- Complies with all SCN BestCo Inc. Policies, Guidelines, Procedures, and cGMP Standards
- Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting, strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, basic electrical, welding and pipefitting skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- One-year certificate from college or technical school
- PLC experience
- Current OSHA forklift certification
- Related experience in the Pharmaceutical industry
