• Serve as a liaison between the school and the families of the school.

• 
  Promote positive parenting throughout the school district and the school community by providing training for parents on strategies to promote student success.

• 
  Promote family welfare efforts by establishing contact with families and connecting them to available community, school, counseling, and literacy resources.

• 
  Provide information to parents concerning school district procedures and instructional programs in order to improve home-school communication.

• 
  Make personal contact with families to encourage family engagement, including home visits, if necessary.

• 
  Collaborate with school counselors, dropout prevention, and other instructional personnel to reduce grade level retention and ensure academic success.

• 
  Research, collect, organize and coordinate resource materials and activities to facilitate family engagement in their child’s education, under the direction of the principal.

• 
  Compile and maintain all required compliance documentation and program records (i.e. Title I documentation for parents, program evaluation, travel logs, and expense logs).

• 
  Coordinate and implement family engagement programs for the campus in collaboration with other campus staff.

• 
  Coordinate with community agencies to ensure families have information about local resources available.

• 
  Participate in professional development activities to improve skills related to job assignment.

• 
  Effectively communicate with colleagues, students, and parents.

• 
  Maintain confidentiality.

•

Education/Certification:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Fluency at a high level in English and Spanish
• Knowledge and skill in casework methods
• Strong consultation skills for conferencing with teachers, families, and students
• Awareness and ability to access community resources
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
