Come join us as a Financial Business Partner. To support the operational and commercial teams across the business by providing a framework for reporting and measuring store performance across multiple key metrics.

Responsible for managing and advising on the store profitability and to ensure that strong commercial standards & practices are being implemented and adhered to.

To take the lead on project work – Viability & planning, successful implementation & post investment review.

Option to work Hybrid, but minimum 2 days a week in office expected.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop a detailed understanding of the Key drivers of profitability
• Work with finance colleagues to help optimise the efficiency and insightfulness of reporting
• Daily, Weekly & Monthly reporting on store performance to senior management
• Monitor, analyse and report on store performance, creating benchmarking and standard operating model
• Margin optimisation - reporting on margin leakage and opportunity costs including the following: Preferred supplier, generic penetration, pricing initiatives, pricing & product file alignment & store margin performance comparison & analysis
• Support operational teams in relation to profit protection and leakage such as discounts, cancelled sales, zero value sales & loyalty
• Stock management & ownership - Implement Live stock and maintain SKU level by store, build automation relationship between wholesaler & retailer, ensure store PO process is being followed, review full stock counts & cycle counts, asses & benchmark stock KPI’s such as negative stock/GRIR, stock days, expiries, dead/slow moving stock
• Overall responsibility for control of store staff costs including, store benchmarking and target KPI’s, collaborating with the operational team on payroll hours & rosters, gross margin analysis to staff numbers & productivity analysis
• Lead on Budgeting and reforecasting, responsibility for developing annual and periodic reforecast, with business owners
• Other store cost review, performance versus budget & peers – Consumables, petty cash, expenses, canteen etc
• Project work – review and analyse business cases proposals/projects including post investment review

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

• Qualified Accountant with min 2/3 years post qualified industry experience
• Multi-Site Retail Experience Desirable but not essential if candidates meet other criteria.
• Experience in reporting to senior management
• Demonstrated and proven ability to work within a team to achieve common goals
• Ability to work with significant volumes of data to investigate and summarise data to present to various Business owners.
• Ability to work on their own and deliver results to tight deadlines
• Demonstrate good communication skills when dealing with key stakeholders
