Job Description & Summary

Summary of Role:
Analysis and follow up of unpaid bills for the firm. Continuously working to improve the Accounts Receivable metrics and performance on an on-going basis. Analysis of work done and related expenses, not yet billed to client (WIP). Liaising with the business to continuously reduce this metric.

This is 12 months FTC role.

Specific areas of responsibility:

  • Analysis of WIP and AR metrics.

  • Timely and effective collection of specific customer payments.

  • Resolving queries both internally and externally around outstanding invoices.

  • Maintaining contact with clients to ensure invoices are clear for payment.

  • Reports to management on cash position, work in progress status and targets.

  • Updating the practice management system with timely, informative notes.

  • Escalating problem accounts to Manager in a timely manner.

  • Dedicated to achieving weekly/monthly call targets.

  • Collaborating effectively with engagement teams to resolve any client issues / queries.

  • Providing accounts information to internal departments upon request.

  • Preparing weekly debtor reports for circulation to internal departments.

  • Other Finance projects and duties as appropriate.

The above is not an exhaustive list and will include completing any other reasonable task requested by management, which may include tasks outside the normal scope of this position.

Education / Professional Qualifications:

  • Leaving Certificate or equivalent

  • Business qualification an advantage e.g., certificate in Business Studies or IATI Accounting.

Experience/ Skills required:

  • Excellent customer service skills / telephone manner

  • Exposure to large, computerised accounts systems preferred.

  • 1-2 years previous experience in a busy accounts’ office.

  • Desire to work within a challenging accounts office environment.

  • Good communication skills (able to communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing).

  • Ability to establish and maintain good client relationships, both internally and externally at all levels

  • Ability to reconcile complex accounts and have excellent attention to detail

  • Calm, confident manner to handle potentially uncomfortable conversations

  • Takes responsibility for own actions and successfully organises own work to produce accurate work within deadlines.

  • Self-starter – Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment to work.

  • Ability to adapt to change and escalate problems as appropriate using initiative and discretion.

  • Works effectively and constructively within a team.

  • Good customer service focus - good problem-solving skills.

  • Committed to quality and excellence – manages customer expectations, innovative approach to problem solving.
