Role and Responsibilities

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for analyzing financial and operational data including performing monthly variance analysis, work with accounting to complete presentations on results for management and operating entities, and other ad-hoc finance projects. The successful candidate will have exposure to senior management and will gain experience dealing with all levels of staff across the organization. This opportunity provides involvement with strategic planning, annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial process improvement.

Responsibilities include:

Partner with and build strong relationships with operational stakeholders to track and analyze key aspects of the P&L, business metrics and targets.

Support development of technically sound financial models with accompanying analysis.

Support creation of annual budgets and forecasts in Excel.

Provide insightful, timely, and accurate monthly financial reporting and variance analysis.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree, with a preference for Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics or other quantitative field.

High level proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Intellectually curious, eager to learn and comfortable with ambiguity.

Solid work ethic, including ability to follow-up, pay close attention to details and take initiative.

Strong verbal and written communication skills: able to communicate effectively with teammates both internal and external to finance and at senior levels of the organization.

Effective time management and organization skills even when unsupervised

Experience with and understanding of financial analysis, financial modeling or profitability analysis techniques.

Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 3+ years of accounting and accounting system experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • General understanding of GAAP accounting standards and application to retail sales environment.
  • Experience with Acumatica (required) and QuickBooks Enterprise (preferred) financial management systems
  • Ability to effectively manage data and manipulate data in excel to support accounting function and system implementation activities.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes and effectively document process and train others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with aptitude in accounting processes.
  • Excellent organization and multitasking skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Primary focus on Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships

  • Experience implementing new accounting systems and developing associated processes and procedures.

  • Reports directly to the Corporate Controller
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working at a computer and on the phone.
  • Must be able to use necessary equipment such as computers, scanners, phone/headset, or other technology devices as assigned.
