Your Opportunity
As Financial Analyst, you will support the Finance Director of the Energy & Resources Business Operating Unit (BOU) which encompasses the Energy and Mining, Minerals & Metals Business Lines. You will be responsible for reporting and analysis of monthly Actuals, Forecasts, variances & KPI trending. You will also provide monthly Operational reporting and work closely with our Finance and Operational Teams.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and complete monthly financial and operational reporting for BOU leadership
- Analysis of financial and operational results and assistance with follow-up to BOU leadership
- Develop automated reporting and forecasting tools for more efficient use of data
- Analyze Business Line Services financial data to identify challenges and solutions
- Assist with CRA Vehicle Taxable Benefit assessments
- Prepare month end journal entries and reconciliations for review
- Support leadership in the development of annual operating and capital budgets, as well as financial forecasts
- Collaborate with both internal and external auditors on specific requests that help support internal controls and the external audit
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop strong relationships with various stakeholders
- Strong financial, analytical, and organizational skills
- A high degree of accuracy in data and financial processing
- Advanced Excel and data modeling skills; understanding of Power Pivot and PowerBI is a plus
- A strong customer service approach with excellent problem solving and skills
- Well-developed leadership skills including taking initiative, demonstrating assertiveness, and being both proactive and responsive
- Ability to work independently to firm deadlines and to manage multiple competing priorities
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business or Commerce or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience. Previous experience in the professional services industry is considered an asset.
Accounting Designation or working towards it is a plus.
Position will primarily work in an office setting.
