One Agency, One Mission: Public Safety
Larimer County Sheriff's Office is seeking a diligent individual to be a Firearms Examiner. The Examiner performs forensic physical and/or chemical examinations of firearms and tool mark evidence. They perform a variety of professional crime laboratory/forensic duties and forensic analysis including recognition, documentation through digital photography, video recording, report creation, collection of physical evidence, and reconstruction of events as required.

Please note: this position operates off-site at the Northern Colorado Regional Forensic Laboratory in Weld County (Greeley, CO).
Qualifications
- Required: bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with study in forensics or other hard science.
- Required: one (1) year experience performing crime scene and/or laboratory duties associated with the processing of firearms or tool mark evidence in a law enforcement agency.
- Required: possession of a valid driver’s license by date of hire.
Supplemental Information
An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check. As marijuana is an illegal substance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical or otherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests will result in the contingent offer of employment being revoked. Successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.
