The Boeing Commercial Airplanes Flight Controls organization is seeking Flight Control Managers to join our team in Everett, WA.

This role requires strong technical knowledge of the Flight Control system, and leadership ability to manage critical work statement within the team. This is a general Flight Control K Level management requisition. Exact placement within the organization will depend on the candidate’s strengths and the organization’s needs. This position may manage any one of a number of our Flight Control teams on the 777X program or within the Design Center (an Integration team, an Equipment team with Electronic or Mechanical focus, or an Autoflight/Primary Control Law team).

Position Responsibilities:

  • Managing team priorities, work statement, and budget allocation

  • Oversight of technical decision-making and engineering quality

  • Reporting and elevating status to senior management

  • Direct coordination with Supplier and/or Customer

  • Performance management and mentorship of an engineering team

  • Cross-functional coordination with other organizations such as Avionics, Crew Ops, Airplane Safety, Aero, System Stress, Production Engineering, and Supply Chain

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.


The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering

  • Experience in leadership either formally or informally leading teams in a cross-functional environment

  • 3+ years experience in the aerospace industry

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working development and sustaining programs

  • Experience working with system engineering principles

  • Experience working directly with Boeing suppliers and customers

  • Experience leading and mentoring large engineering teams

  • Knowledge of flight controls systems

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to plan tasks and adhere to schedules

  • Ability to take responsibility for all aspects of issue resolution

  • Ability to lead rapidly changing priorities

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range: $147, 050 - 198, 950
