Woods Services is a Pennsylvania and New Jersey-based non-profit population health network and advocacy organization that along with its six affiliate organizations provides life-long innovative, comprehensive and integrated health, education, housing, workforce, behavioral health and case management services to more than 22,000 children and adults in the intellectual and developmental disability, child welfare, behavioral and brain trauma public health sectors who have complex and intensive medical and behavioral healthcare needs. Monitors all residential and day program kitchens to ensure safe food service and to ensure compliance with policies and procedures established by Woods Services and Board of Health Regulations.
- Maintains operating licenses for FNS, school lunch and adult care programs.
- Schedules and attends biannual inspection with Board of Health.
- Tracks and maintains ServSafe certification for food service/day program personnel.
- Completes a Kitchen Inspection for main commissary/day programs/residential homes quarterly.
- Visits all day programs during mealtime weekly.
- Monitors food service in education, residential and day program areas on portion control, appearance, quality, excesses and shortages.
- Ensures all personnel involved in food handling follow the established policies and procedures of the FNS department.
- Monitors delivery of food for the lunch, daily order, and dinner meals, including daily spot checks of both food and deliveries for temperature and quality.
- Trains FNS, residential, and day program employees on current food safety, food handling, cooking techniques, by holding in-service programs and sending reminder memos on foodservice policies.
- Supports residential/day program personnel on how to operate and maintain all kitchen equipment in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Assists with Assistant FNS Director and Supervisor on maintaining and updating daily orders and food counts for all locations.
- Reviews and reports on weekly temperature logs sheets.
- Supports daily operation when needed.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma and ServSafe certification required. Associate degree in food service management or dietetics preferred
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a food service setting.
JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
In depth knowledge of safe food handling practices and food storage procedures. Knowledge in Microsoft and Excel. Able to complete necessary reports. Must possess good communication skills. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Able to work fluctuating hours. Must possess a valid Driver's License and have reliable transportation.
