Part Time Chef (29 hours or less) which includes every other weekend. If you are interested in working in a friendly work environment and having more consistent family-oriented hours, we are looking for a qualified candidate to join our team. A qualified/proven part time team member will have opportunities to acquire additional hours when they are available.Position Overview:
Responsibilities include food preparation (according to recipes) as part of the daily regime of 3 nutritious meals per day for the entire residency of Forest Hill Heights. The cook position requires proven kitchen experience, preferably in a comparable industry, as well as an understanding of and appreciation for assisted living and life at Forest Hill Heights.
- Prepare assigned/schedules meals in according with seasonal menu cycle or as instructed by supervisor.
- Prepare menus according to provided recipes
- Monitor and document food temperatures in accordance with the health department regulations (hot/cold)
- Daily documentation of refrigerator and freezer temperatures (AM and PM)
- Maintain order, discipline and safety within the kitchen at all times
- Follow all HACCP regulations in food handling and meal preparation
- Follow and adhere to all cleaning and sanitization guidelines
- Sufficient culinary education and/or experience in institutional cooking
- Knowledge of food services sanitation regulations
- Understanding of and experience with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) regulations
- Ability to read and write
- Detail oriented
- Ability to follow directions
- Team player, works well with others
- Dependable and trust-worthy
- First Aid certified (we will help obtain)
- Clean background check
