About Us
The “Avenue Bellevue” is looking for a Director Purchasing ? Store Managment to lead the entire pre-opening and operation of purchasing, store management and distribution areas the newly constructed mixed-use project under construction (opening NOV 2023) consisting of 208 room and suite first class “InterContinental Hotel Bellevue” with 12.000sf convention center, several restaurants, HOA management for 365 luxury condo units in 2 towers, 1.000 unit parking garage and extensive 100.000sf luxury retail space.
Your day to day
The Position
This management level position will oversee all aspects of the multi-sector (hotel, real estate/HOA, parking services etc.) Purchasing/Store Management Department in a centralized environment. The Director Purchasing / Store Managment will report to the General Manager and the Group VP of Purchasing. Will act as a mentor and be very involved with the day-to-day operations of the hotel and the department.
Your day to day
You’ll manage and control purchasing systems and procedures to continually improve the supply chain process, ensure cost effective contracting of products and services, and promote compliance internally with established standards.
· Pre-opening purchasing management to coordinate, manage and execute entire pre-opening equipment and coordination with involved stake holders and various project teams
· Manager and supervise day-to-day activities of Purchasing, Storeroom, and/or Receiving staff.
· Alert Controller of potentially serious issues.
· Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Key departmental contacts include hotel department heads to obtain/provide information.
· Interact with outside contacts, like Vendors, key suppliers – to place orders, ensure product delivery schedules, discuss pricing or billing issues; Regulatory agencies – regarding compliance matters and other contacts as needed (Professional organizations, community group
· Manage and maintain hotel inventory levels; ensure month-end inventories are completed in a timely and accurate manner to ensure appropriate levels are maintained which minimize waste and maximize ration turnover of perishable items. Ensure cleanliness and organization in all work areas and storerooms.
· Ensure all staff is properly trained and have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their job functions.
· Manage the purchase of all food and non-food items for the hotel through the company’s key purchasing supplier and other key vendors. Work with vendors to obtain supplies to meet specialized needs, and maintain effective purchasing relationships as necessary.
· Forecast operational needs and schedule deliveries accordingly to meet the hotel’s operational requirements.
· Maintain internal controls over the requisitioning and issuing of items; develop and maintain purchase order system; direct the delivery of supplies to appropriate departments or storage areas and ensure reports and records are updated and forwarded to the appropriate contact for payment, based on company and hotel policies and procedures.
· Promote compliance by advising department heads of potential cost overruns, new regulations, or potential violations to established standards. Act as expert resource and guide in process control activities and requirements.
· Work closely with Culinary and Catering Departments to ensure correct and adequate supplies are purchased for upcoming events, and that timely delivery is ensured.
· Complete receiving reports, food and beverage costs report; and other reports as required.

· Five to seven years purchasing management experience in a hotel environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
This job requires ability to perform the following:
· Frequently standing up or moving around the facility
· Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
· Handling objects and boxes
· Use a keyboard to generate correspondence, reports, etc.
Other:
- Pre-Opening project and hospitality experience preferred.
- Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with guests, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal, State, and local laws and regulations affecting purchasing and supply chain management.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage key vendor relationships.
- Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances are utilized frequently.
- Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are used often.
- Reading abilities are used often in reviewing purchase orders, contracts for service, budgets, and other related reports. Writing abilities are used in compiling reports, as well as to document.
- Ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
- Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment.
- Strong working knowledge of inventory planning, forecasting techniques, as well as operational systems and warehouse management.
- Proven track record in successful project management and completion (on time, on budget, goals met).
- Inquisitive, detail-oriented with strong quantitative analytical skills and an innovative approach to problem-solving.
- Demonstrated ability in team development, management, and consensus-building.
- Excellent MS Office (Excel, MSQuery, Access, PowerPoint) capabilities required.
- Strong written communication and presentation skills required.
