GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision of the GCIC TAC, this individual provides GCIC data entry, clerical, and records maintenance support. In compliance with applicable GCIC regulations, enters data including stolen or lost property, vehicles, missing person, guns and active City and State warrants into the GCIC/NCIC system. In addition to entries, GCIC specialists also perform monthly validations. This is a highly sensitive position and conforms to the requirements overseen by the GBI/FBI.
SCHEDULE:
This position will require shift work, including nights and weekends, to support a 24/7 operation. Shifts are assigned based on seniority.

In addition to the City contributions to the 401(a), you can contribute into the 457(b) plan up to the Federal limit. The City will provide you a matching contribution of up to 5% of your salary that you defer into this plan. City contributions will be made to your 401(a). City contributions are fully vested after 5 years of employment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Enter all Stolen Vehicles, Runaway Juveniles, Missing Persons, and Stolen Articles with Serial #s onto the GCIC/NCIC system
- Enter all warrants submitted by Court Services, Probation Services, Officers & Detective Personnel onto GCIC/NCIC system
- Run Criminal Histories for officers, Detectives or other SSPD Law Enforcement Personnel
- Responsible for keeping GCIC Files in order and safe keeping
- Responsible for Clearing and Cancelling necessary entries to GCIC
- Prepare all files for audit purposes for GCIC
- Submits LED (Law Enforcement Data) sheets of entries to records department
- Maintain complete data necessary for tracking arrest warrant receipts and arrest warrant attempts and/or serviced by SSPD officers
- Perform HIT confirmations/request from SSPD officers and outside agencies
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three (3) years of Law Enforcement/Administrative Experience
- Must be fully certified by GCIC (Georgia Crime Information Center) within 6 months of date of hire
- Ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions
- Knowledge of data entry programs, personal computers, and Microsoft Office
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited college
- Current GCIC certification
- Five (5) years of Law Enforcement/Administrative Experience
- Specialized training and coursework related to the conduct of GCIC
