POSITION OVERVIEW

Testing engines and generators in the range of 3 kW to 100 kW either in production or in development. Technician to work at our manufacturing facility in Gardena, California. Responsibilities include identifying possible production defects, measuring performance values, and testing new product features for our solar hybrid power and other systems. Our system subassemblies include engines, alternators, controls and enclosures.

Training is available but strong engine and digital controls experience is required.

Engine technologies include diesel, propane, and natural gas.

ESSENTIAL TASKS

· Manage the workstations / test cells and supervise the other testing technicians.

· Work with engineering to develop test procedures

· Follow the requirements of work orders to ensure products are tested within the listed specifications

· Troubleshoot as required to detect faulty mechanical parts and electronics using wiring diagrams and schematics to detect root-cause

· Work within the engineering group for training and technical support

· Communicate problems detected during testing and report them to Quality Control

· Closely with all team members with a focus on safety and quality

· Perform maintenance for company tools and equipment including load banks, multimeters, and hand tools

REQUIREMENTS

· Education minimum: Technical certification or equivalent experience in related fields over two years.

· Working knowledge of engines, ECU and related controls, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies, and test instruments.

· Proficiency with digital controls

· Effective using hand tools and electronic instruments such as voltmeters, ammeters, data loggers, and temperature measuring

· Excellent communication skills

· Safety awareness for electrical components, heavy machinery, and warehouse procedures

· Candidate should be a self- starter, have a bias for action, good critical thinking skills, strong communication skills, the ability to resolve issues, and can multitask

· Able to lift items up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
