    Required Licensure:
    • Current MN Teaching License Grades 6-12
    • Gifted & Talented certificate or Masters degree with Gifted & Talented focus preferred

    Required Experience:
    Experience working with gifted populations

    Responsibilities:
    The Middle School Coordinator of Gifted Programs & Services works in conjunction with the
    gifted & talented department to support students, teachers, building administration, and
    families as a resource and advocate of gifted education and advanced learning. The Middle
    School Coordinator of Gifted Programs & Services will have general oversight of two middle
    school gifted programs, Dimensions Academy (DA) and Nobel, and must be able to form
    and maintain positive relationships and partnerships with a variety of educational
    professionals to best meet the needs of these students.
    • Collaborate and consult with teachers on differentiation and G.T. pedagogy. Coordinating and leading staff development opportunities around topics such as Critical and Creative thinking models.
    • Coordinate and/or create curriculum for gifted programs.
    • Coordinate district-wide & building-specific services and enrichment opportunities
    • Test and identify students for gifted programs and services. Outreach to diverse communities to participate in Bloomington Public Schools programs and services. Ensure supports for retention
    • Provide social, emotional and academic supports to gifted populations
    • Communicate, consult, and provide academic counseling to GT families
    • Team with the GT Department and the Learning and Teaching Department to inform systemic best practices.
    • Other GT coordination duties as required
