The Glassblower position is responsible for creating complex products while helping the Hot Shop reach production goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESONSIBILITIES:

• Form blown glass product according to specifications and QC guidelines.
• Lead a team to achieve daily production goals.
• Manage your teams time to maximize production.
• Exemplify a willingness to work in all positions up and down the team.
• Train other team members with less skill to constantly improve quality and technique.
• Accomplish production according to posted schedule and adapt with change.
• Think critically and intuitively to troubleshoot unexpected obstacles and challenges.
• Demonstrate a knowledge of hot shop set-up, equipment uses, tools, and moulds.
• Communicate interdepartmentally to deliver products as needed to achieve company goals.
• Acknowledge the larger workflow and processes of Hammerton as a whole and recognize how the hot glass department is interdependent with all teams within the organization.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of demonstrated glassblowing experience preferred

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Exemplify a sincere desire to learn and grow as a craftsperson in the medium of hot glass.
• Positive attitude!
• Able to work in multiple hot shop positions (Assist, Start, and Gaff) when needed and trained.
• Able to look outside of the box for solutions to common problems

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• This position works primarily in a Hot Shop which includes high levels of heat and working closely around flames and furnaces.
• This position requires the ability to continually bend, stoop, stand, sit, bend wrists, physically blow air out of the mouth, lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly, and climb steps.
