Grant Coordinator

Position Summary
As a member of the Business Office team, the Grant Coordinator will work to ensure we are compliant in all aspects of federal and state grant programs. This position also ensures Commonwealth Charter Academy (CCA) conducts and documents all tasks required for compliance with statutes, regulations, rules, policies, and procedures relating to Federal and State grant programs. This position will be the organization’s grant expert and work closely with various school administrators and staff, including the Business Office, Human Resources, Family Services, Special Education, Technology, and Learning Departments, as well as the School Improvement Team, and school leadership.

  • Research and demonstrate proficient knowledge of Federal and State accountability programs and grants, and perpetually research grant opportunities
  • Remain up to date on the changing laws and requirements regarding Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) and the Public School Code and disseminate the information to system-wide and school personnel in a timely manner
  • Plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate federally funded and other grant programs
  • Assists with the preparation of the Federal, State and other grant program budgets and applications, including the development of goals & objectives for each grant
  • Responsible for time & effort reporting
  • Provide compliance oversight of all grants (e.g., Title IA, IIA, IVA, IDEA, and other Federal grants, State grants, and local grants grants)
  • Review and analyze student academic, attendance, demographic, and other data to make recommendations concerning utilization of grant and other school funds
  • Obtain Free and Reduced Meals (FARM) data for families under Title I funding
  • Support the school improvement team and assist with the grant budget and application for the School Improvement grant
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop programs, activities, and events geared to reach the families and students qualifying for grant program services
  • Work with the Family Services department to ensure components of parental/family engagement are met with respect to grants and grants compliance
  • Collaborate with CCA staff to plan grant related professional development, training, and workshops for staff or families as needed.
  • Assure all purchases and expenditures are compliant with Uniform Grant Guidance with assistance from the Business Office
  • Maintain data, reports, and information as required to collaborate with CCA staff in preparation for audits and monitoring
  • Share information and conduct staff professional development and training on the interpretation, implementation, and requirements for program compliance
  • Attend state and regional meetings, workshops, and conferences to seek out new strategies in increasing parent involvement, student learning opportunities, grant opportunities, and grant compliance
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or education related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in education grant program administration and oversight or similar experience (preferably in education)
  • Technologically proficient (especially with Microsoft OS and MS Office programs)

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and other technology.

Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role. Requires the ability to lift, squat, sit, bend or stand as necessary. Ability to travel to other sites/locations as needed.
