- Full Time/Non-Exempt: 36-hours a week
- Schedule: Flexible schedule Monday through Friday, 3 remote days/2 in-office days.

Description
The Bridge is seeking a Grant Writer responsible for the management, oversight, and administrative function of the agency’s grant application and management process. Additionally, this position will proactively identify and research new government, corporate, foundation, and congregational grant opportunities and other funding sources. As well, as support our efforts to reach new donors and retaining existing ones and play an important role in our foundation cultivation and stewardship.
The ideal candidate will have at least some development writing experience, and basic knowledge of the issues and concepts that relate to domestic violence/ sexual assault issues within the surrounding area. They will be able to handle a high volume of writing projects in a variety of styles and formats and demonstrate mastery of a range of concepts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Drafts and edits letters of intent/inquiry (LOIs), grant proposals, online submissions, acknowledgments, reports, and necessary supporting documents for complex proposals to current and prospective funders.
- Monitors proposals and funding application requirements (e.g., presentation (number of copies and binding), content, delivery method and labeling, deadlines, eligibility for grant, etc.) for the purpose of utilizing time and resources to maximize successful awarding of grant funds.
- Researches grant opportunities (e.g., facility improvements, curriculum development, administrative needs, etc.) for the purpose of developing additional funding resources for both current and proposed services, programs and administrative operations as well as serving as a clearinghouse for potential grant funding opportunities.
- Manages the agency’s grant funding efforts as it pertains to private foundations, corporations, third-party fundraisers, and public/government opportunities.
- Write a high volume of public and private grants in an accurate and timely manner, allowing time for grants to go through the review process prior to final submission
- Collaborate across departments to collect and synthesize needed content for grant applications and reports, in a timely and respectful manner
- Initiate and create new content for grants and conduct independent research needed to complete applications and build a case strong for support
- Manage grants calendar with application and relevant deadlines
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or English or related field required from four-year college or university; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in all Office software, knowledge of typical fundraising software; Internet software; spreadsheet software (Excel).
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate professionally both verbally and in writing, and pay attention to details, including excellent proofreading and editing skills.
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines while working on multiple projects concurrently and excellent organizational skills.
- Strong presentation skills (public speaking, representing the agency in the community)

- Must pass criminal background investigation check
- Must pass drug screen
- Must provide and maintain current TX Driver’s License
- Must provide and maintain clean driving record and biennially update driving record.
- Must provide and maintain current auto liability insurance
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
- Must be able to lift/carry (40) lbs, and ascend/descend stairs in emergency shelter setting.
