Graphic Designer & Visual Artist - Position Overview

The Graphic Designer and Visual Artist will provide high quality designs beginning from research, concept development and image creation through execution and refinement. A perfect candidate for this role requires an individual who is up to date on design trends and can apply this knowledge towards problem solving for the client. This position requires collaboration across the company (both within the design team, and with directors of various projects) and with federal clients to ensure the integrity of corporate and client branding, proper alignment with brand guidelines and consistency of high-quality work. While team collaboration is very necessary, the candidate must also be a self-starter, and be able to start tasks independently with minimum direction, but open communication.

Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities

• Design graphics and layouts for various types of products that include but are not limited to:
  • Print products (posters, brochures, pamphlets, etc.)
  • Social media graphics
  • Digital PDF flip books
  • Presentations
  • Environmental graphics and showcases
  • Web Design layouts and mockups
• Create logo designs and other visual identity tools to aid in brand platform development
• Provide design strategies for cross-channel campaigns that support client mission
• Partner with client and internal creative team to provide creative consultation, prioritize daily work and set up checkpoints to ensure high quality control and timely project delivery
• Excellent Communication skills and able to respond to direct manager with updates and inform others of progress and upcoming deliverables

Qualifications:

• BA in Graphic Design OR 5 years in a design leadership role OR 8 years in the graphic design field
• Strong design, layout and production skills
• Attention to fine detail, pixel alignment, and grammar
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud or Creative Suite
• Understanding of video and motion graphics programs such as After Effects and Premiere are a plus
• Advanced knowledge of graphic design tools including web, workflow applications
• Successful development of creative briefs, presentations, style guides and other brand documentation
• Strong ability to ensure the final visual design is on-brand and delivers on strategic, corporate or project goals
• Ability to set priorities manage time and work well under tight deadlines
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Extremely detail oriented and highly organized
• Curious learner who stays current with industry and design knowledge
• Recent portfolio of work
