Our client – FT Jackson Trucking LLC, is seeking an HCR Cover Driver for a full-time position immediately!

Position Opening: HCR Cover Driver

Job Description: HCR Cover Driver is responsible for covering any and all contract routes and extra trips that can not be covered by regular HCR drivers as a result of vacations, illness, or other operational needs. HCR Cover Driver schedule is subject to change but will be scheduled each Friday before the coming work week, which begins on the following Sunday. HCR Cover Driver DOES NOT have a regularly scheduled route and will receive a schedule based on the coverage needed to ensure that all routes have been fulfilled. HCR Cover Driver is responsible to follow all company policies including but not limited to the following:

Role and Responsibilities:

• Perform pre-trip truck checks daily in accordance with FMCSA regulation part 396.
• Check all fluid levels daily (oil, anti-freeze/coolant, wiper fluid, etc.)
• Report any defects and/or unsafe items
• Adhere to strict route times and schedules
• Follow only contracted routes unless otherwise approved by management
• Secure all trailer contents, never leaving the load unattended
• Ensure the assigned truck is parked in the truck lot during unscheduled times unless otherwise approved by management
• Maintain sufficient fuel level in the assigned truck as well as any truck used on an assigned route
• Maintain acceptable CDL Class A or B driving record
• Follow all company rules and policies

USPS Route Driver additional information and requirements:

• All Routes are within a 45-mile radius of Kearny NJ
• All Routes must be completed according to the assigned schedule and are time-sensitive.
• All Drivers will start and end the routes by picking up and returning the assigned trucks at the truck yard in Kearny NJ
• All Drivers must have a clean CDL Drivers license and health card
• All Drivers are subject to DOT-required drug screenings.
• All Drivers must be scheduled to work 4 Federal Holidays during each calendar year.
• All Drivers are paid a maximum of 8 hours of Holiday pay plus any hours worked on that holiday.
• All Driver's Holiday max pay is based on the percentage of 40 hrs worked the prior week. (100%= 8hrs, 50%=4 hrs)
• All Drivers must complete 1 year or 2080 hours of service before becoming eligible for vacation.
• All Drivers are granted 80 hours of vacation at their anniversary date

Salary Range: 28.00/hr. Plus 5.32/hour tax-free benefit
