Brief Description:
The HSE Manager oversees and supports multiple rigs in a region. Primary responsibilities include effectively managing HSE Advisors during rig inspections and incident reviews, coordinating support for area management groups within the region and providing rig support. Additionally, the HSE Manager works with field personnel to conduct incident investigations and assist with training programs. The HSE Manager is also responsible for coaching, teaching, and training employees in an assigned responsibility area.
Detailed Description:
Initiate and foster productive customer relationships to ensure customer needs are met consistently and in a timely manner based on standards established within the Health, Safety and Environment department
Oversee onsite rig inspections including conducting follow-up reviews to ensure the safety of personnel and proper maintenance of equipment and machinery
Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day activities and duties performed by HSE Advisors
Work with all area management to support all regional and company goals
Assist with New to Industry and Employee Safety Orientation training
Conduct incident investigations and provide support to coordinate appropriate corrective actions based upon findings
Effectively lead, manage, and develop HSE Advisors to drive individual performance goals and ensure overall performance aligns with Company standards
Communicate and follow-up on day-day issues to ensure that Area Management, Rig Managers and crews understand and comply with all policies and procedures
Provide additional rig support and leadership as necessary to ensure personnel safety, efficiency in all operations, and customer satisfaction
Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Communicate effectively with coworkers, internal and external customers, and third parties verbally and in writing
Provide leadership and management to foster a safe and effective working atmosphere
Maintain relationships with internal and external customers and other key stakeholders
Use a computer to write and read emails, and generate reports incorporating graphs
Work independently and prioritize tasks based on operational needs
Make sound and quick decisions to support all operations while maintaining a continuously safe working environment
Job Requirements:
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, using communication tools such as email
Ability to perform basic math functions using a calculator
Ability to proficiently use MS Office Suite to develop reports, presentations, and email correspondences, (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalency certificate
Minimum of 2 years work experience within HSE or related equivalent function
Eligible to drive Company vehicle including ability to meet requirements of Company’s Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy
Preferred Qualifications:
Four-year college degree

This position requires the person to work in both office locations and outdoors in all types of weather conditions, including precipitation, cold / heat, high wind, and turbulent conditions. The HSE Manager will be regularly exposed to the typical conditions of the local area where the drilling operations and rigs are located. The HSE Manager must work with an emphasis on individual safety and safety for others, including coworkers and third parties. This person must be able to work closely with others under time-sensitive deadlines and in potential emergency response situations. The person must be willing to work extended schedules, including extra days, occasional nights, weekends and holidays.
