Job Overview
The HVAC Foreperson is a working team member who leads and performs in a variety of mechanical maintenance functions, which encompass all trades and disciplines in duties that include but are not limited to:
- Maintains GU heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems to meet federal and state codes and requirements.
- Installs new equipment installation to replace existing apparatuses, parts orders, assigning work. Directs HVAC personnel, monitors their performance, and gives them guidance and training as needed and troubleshoots HVACR equipment
- Monitors program and maintains computerized building automation systems, electrical installations, electrical reports, and other mechanical related work as assigned.
- Leads, directs, motivates, inspires, and encourages work in a positive manner and provides input for performance evaluations all HVAC mechanics.
Work Interactions
Reporting to the HVAC supervisor, the HVAC Foreperson provides oversight and direction of HVAC mechanics; and interacts with Georgetown University’s faculty, staff, and students on a regular basis.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Valid driver’s license
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification Card or Universal Technician License
- HVAC/R License
- At least 5 years of documented work experience in building maintenance - with 3 of those years having documented HVACR maintenance and repair
- At least 5 years of experience in leading team of HVAC personnel
