PAY: $21 per hour
Schedule:
- Tuesday-Saturday 7:30 am-4:00 pm during training
- Tuesday-Saturday 9am-5:30pm after training
Will drive company vehicle to repair furniture in customer's home.

Job Description:
Repairs, touches up, replace parts and rebuilds all furniture products including but not limited to case goods, upholstery and bedding. Repairs all furniture merchandise to a sellable condition. Generally, works with smaller repairs. This includes repairing tops, mixing custom stains for color matching, stripping and finishing, building or rebuilding a product, using larger/more complex power tools.
Job Summary:
- On the job training by Homemakers internal furniture repair technicians
- Insurable and able to drive a company vehicle
- Ability to work independently in customers’ homes completing repairs/inspections/reports/replacing parts
- Evaluate each piece of furniture to determine the type of wood and/or upholstery repairs, parts, and materials needed to complete the job
- Upholstery Repairs: Remove and install upholstery panels, springs, frame repairs, leather repairs, mechanisms, minor electrical and hand sewing
- Case Goods: Burn-ins, refinishing, joinery and match colors and simulate wood grains
- Maintain all shop tools, materials in safe operating condition
- Report all safety issues to Supervisor and document as needed
- Complete all required documentation of repaired product and movement of product
- Provides feedback to management regarding efficiencies, safety, productivity, etc.
- Properly handle the product while moving it from one location to another
- Communicate with your supervisor, team members and with other departments in a professional manner
- Accurately tag product
- Ability to work well in a team environment or independently
- Aware of what needs to be accomplished for the day and assist others in the department as needed
- Train new team members
- Follow all operational and safety procedures
- Other duties and responsibilities my be assigned based on business needs.
Job Requirements:
- High School or GED
- Insurable and able to drive a company vehicle
- Technical or Trade School a plus but not required
- Furniture Repair experience a plus but not required
- Strong customer service
- Warehouse experience a plus
- We will train the right candidate who has transferable skills
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Analytical skills
- Basic working knowledge of computer
- Ability to work nights, weekends and/or early morning hours based on business needs
- Ability to work well in a team environment or independently
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with high customer contact
- Ability to work long hours as business needs
- Working knowledge of operating heavy machinery and operating hand tools
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and excellent time management and organizational skills
- Effective communicator with strong follow up skills
Physical expectations:
- Standing/sitting for long periods of time
- Using hands and power tools
- Bending, lifting and walking frequently
- Pushing and pulling objects
- Able to lift 50 lbs. and more with assistance
- Environmental conditions:*
- Will work indoors in a warehouse and in customer’s home
- Conditions may include hot/cold temperatures, dusty surroundings and noisy work environment
