At our Company we are advancing Digital Shop Floor technologies and capabilities across the organization. This role will work with manufacturing sites in the region and the Automation Centres of Excellence to provide technical guidance and support in aspects Instrumentation and Controls for day to day operations, projects and all aspects of lifecycle management.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting I&C scope of projects and sites in the region. They will partner with stakeholders in the business, Global Engineering and Digital Shop Floor Platforms to ensure projects are correctly delivered with appropriate technology and qualification standards.
The role can be a hybrid one including onsite & offsite.
Primary Responsibilities
- Partner with local business leadership and project teams to scope for instrumentation and control system hardware for capital projects.
- Review/approval of electrical/loop drawings for OEM process/utility equipment, custom equipment skids, and stick built instrumentation created by Engineering Contractors.
- Definition of and embedment of the instrument index and required details to ensure synchronisity with P&ID’s.
- Ensuring that the instrument index is also synchronized with the automation, Electrical and Instrumentation, Calibration and Maintenance, Commissioning and Qualification.
- Understand and educate local project teams on hardware automation standards (hardware interface, Remote I/O and other bus technologies as they relate to technology selection, system configuration, validation, hardware, and software environments.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) at skid suppliers and OEMs as needed.
- Assists with loop checks and drawing verification during Automation IQ testing, as needed.
What skills you will need:
In order to excel in this role, you will more than likely have:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; ideally in a related Science, Engineering or other Technical Discipline.
- 5 Years+ experience of Instrumentation and Controls.
- Experience of regulatory/code requirements to industry standards and practices.
- Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology manufacturing processes.
- Bus technologies and hardware interface experience.
- Understanding of DCS, PLCs and HMIs.
- Expertise with Enterprise Architecture using the ISA95 and ISA88 standards.
