What can you expect:

The successful applicant will assist the Consultants within Mercer’s Insured Pensions DC consulting team, in the day to day client management and project management across a portfolio of clients. The Support Consultant will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day delivery of an excellent, efficient service level to all clients.

We will rely on you to:

  • Providing support services to the DC consulting team
  • Co-ordination of agreed services to a portfolio of schemes
  • Ensuring the delivery of the highest level of service to our clients consistent with their expectations and SLA’s in place
  • Preparation of meeting and governance packs
  • Providing support on client projects including new scheme installations
  • Providing general administrative support to the Insured Pensions team
  • Updating and maintenance of data on the internal department’s core systems
  • Deal with queries received from employers, members, third parties and other lines of business via email and through our dedicated phone line
  • Liaising with insurers on all aspects of pension and risk plan matters
  • On occasion, attendance at client meetings with Consultants
  • Co-ordinate complex assignments and develop more junior colleagues.

What you will need to have:

  • Experience working in the financial services industry
  • Proven ability to deliver excellent client service and satisfaction
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a highly collaborative team environment and build strong relationships and networks
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • High level of accuracy/attention to detail
  • Excellent planning and organisational ability in order to prioritise and complete work in accordance to deadlines
  • Flexibility of approach, ability to work on own initiative
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) or progression towards same is an advantage

What makes you stand out:

  • 4 years plus pensions administration experience in a consultancy firm, brokerage or life office
  • Ideally group or company DC pension administration experience
