Job Description
Cognostane is in a managed services agreement with Reliance eHealth Collaborative, a rapidly expanding non-profit Healthcare Information Exchange operating in the Pacific NW.
Reliance is recruiting a full-time HealthCare Interface Developer. This is a remote position, but we require that the candidate reside in Oregon or Washington. In this role, you will be focused on expanding and optimizing our data interface pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection. You will also enjoy building tools to ensure pipeline quality and performance and working with various clinical interface systems amongst cross functional teams of internal and external customers. You will have in-depth knowledge of ADT, ORM, ORU, CDA (CCD, CCDA), X12, and flat file messages in a healthcare context.

Key Responsibilities
On a daily basis, the HealthCare Interface Analyst will focus on continuous expansion and improvement of:
  • Acquisition: Working closely with project management on client-facing projects to source data from EHRs and other systems. You will develop and support secure, reliable data integrations, following HIPAA compliance and other industry standards, using interface engines such as MIRTH Connect
  • Cleansing: Detecting and correcting errors vs internal and external clinical data standards
  • Transformation: Converting data formats, fields. Map and transform healthcare data from disparate sources (databases, EMR systems, financial systems) to the needed standard)
  • Normalization: wrangling data to increase cohesion and to appear similar across all records and fields (ex: data contributor name mapping, clinical coding concepts)
  • De-duplication: Removing duplicate copies of data
  • Testing: Writing of unit/integration tests, contributing to documentation. Participate in the full software development life cycle from requirements analysis through test, release, and maintenance.
  • Analysis: Performing data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution and future preventative action

Required Qualifications
  • Experience with development in Mirth Connect
  • Experience with healthcare interface standards such as HL7, X12/EDI, XML, FHIR
  • Experience with version control tools such as git

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in JavaScript and Python building high-integrity data pipelines from multiple data sources including traditional clinical interfaces and APIs
  • Experience with pipeline workflow tools such as NiFi or Airflow
Compensation
$72,268.51 - $115,627.49
The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may will be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience.
