Upland Brewing in Indianapolis, IN is looking for one kitchen supervisor to join our 29 person strong team. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and engaged.

Responsibilities

Manage Daily Operations

• Ability to maintain a high level of execution of service and communicate any shortcomings effectively so they can be addressed and corrected.
• Knowledgeable of all stations within the kitchen with a mastery of at least 2 of those stations, must have the ability to demonstrate.
• Excellent time management while overseeing the entire BOH operation.
• Be a Duck. Cool, calm outward appearance on the surface but constantly looking for the next opportunity to improve and continue to move forward with maximum effort.
• Be a team player who is willing to do whatever it takes to get the job, task, operation done within a timely manner with a focus on the guest experience.
• Effectively able to communicate either on the phone or via text messaging information as requested to assist in fixing an opportunity or issue while remaining in control of the situation.

Control Food Cost

• Ability to complete inventory, assess, and based on preset pars, place orders with accuracy in a timely manner.

Maximize Labor

• Solid understanding of sales, labor, and cost projections to make informed decisions about labor, effective cost cutting, and scheduling.
• Must be able to adjust based on local and in-house events.

Focus on Accountability

• Ability to hold fellow team members accountable to the rules and regulations established by the management team without emotion.
• Understand that you are an extension of the management team and must represent yourself as such 100% of the time no matter, on or off the clock.
• Be a microphone for the staff and a megaphone for the management team.
• Ability to hold oneself to the highest standards of integrity, self-control, and professionalism in all situations, especially when representing our restaurant, staff and company.
• Other duties as assigned
• Weekend and evening work required.

Qualifications

*Previous shift management experience a plus *Proficient at multiple stations on a hot line(i.e. Sauté, Broil/Grill, Pantry, Inside Expo-Assembler) *Open availability
