Job Description:
**This is an onsite position in Zion, IL**

Hours: Mon - Fri 8am - 4:30pm

Job Summary :
The Laboratory Information System (LIS) Specialist is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the LIS and related activities. Activities include, but not limited to, building new test modalities, implementing system upgrades and interfaces, trouble shooting both software and hardware and resolving system/instrument error messages. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of hospital information systems and understands the relationships among these systems. Assists the Director in managing process improvement activities, trouble shooting and decision-making. Educates and serves as a resource on LIS to internal laboratory departments and external departments.

Minimum Requirements:
Associates' Degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences or related field required.
Bachelors' degree preferred.
3 to 5 years' experience working in a computerized medical laboratory required.
SunQuest/Misys experience preferred.

Skills: Professional demeanor, effective collaboration and communication skills ensuring team work with co-workers, nursing staff and physicians. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Knowledge of regulatory requirements. Excellent organizational, problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Pay Range
$30.97 - $51.02

Placement within the identified pay range is based on individual and market factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, credentials (including licenses and certifications), geographic location, market competition, skill set (including market availability of required skills), assigned/anticipated job tasks, and level of responsibility.
