Job description

The Lead Monitor will be responsible for heading up a team of four staff who will monitor clients at a community based facility serving adult probationers with a history of criminal behavior and addiction.

The Lead Monitor is responsible for oversight of all monitoring activities at the Center. S/he is responsible for scheduling of staff, and covering vacant shifts. S/he will be responsible for oversight of urine drug screens from clients. S/he will communicate with Center management on all issues and write reports as needed. Ensures a safe and secure environment for both staff and clients. S/he will ensure that clients enter and exit the building in an appropriate manner and remain in assigned areas.

Job Function:

• Supervise all monitoring operations at center
• Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts
• Fill vacant shifts as needed
• Provide direct monitoring of clients in all phases of daily routines including break periods.
• Monitor all educational and clinical classes/groups
• Take accurate attendance of all clients.
• Maintain accurate communications log entries.
• Collection and documentation of urine screens
• Write incident reports as needed and communicate concerns to program management
• Responsible for on-going training of security staff
• Provide feedback on performance to staff and conduct annual performance reviews
• Screen and presents candidates for hire to program management
• Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and trainings as directed.
• Prevent crisis situations from escalating by intervening and counseling clients.
• Provide support and assistance in any crisis situation.
• Maintain work schedule as directed.

Education/Experience/Physical Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice or similar field preferred

At least one year of supervisory experience required

Must have a valid Drivers License

Must have visual and auditory acuity in order to maintain security of the center.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
