About Your New Employer:

A web data platform company are looking for a Legal Counsel to join their team working remotely in Ireland. This role is a broad legal resource for the company, with the key area of responsibility in commercial contract drafting, negotiations, and management.

The ideal person is an organised, self-motivated, team player. Someone who has high personal and business ethics and is an expert communicator to both legal and non-legal audiences is required.

About Your New Job:

  • Lead the drafting, review, interpretation, negotiation, and execution of various commercial and other agreements, while coordinating with outside counsel, customers, vendors, and customers’ counsel as needed
  • Lead drafting of contract templates, software licensing agreements, professional services agreements, and website terms of service
  • Independently manage internal stakeholders to complete contract negotiations, explain key issues during the negotiation process, and make recommendations as to negotiation strategy to achieve the company's goals
  • Work closely with the Sales Team to draft and negotiate commercial contracts and understand how to balance legal and commercial needs when negotiating sales contracts
  • Advise on web scraping laws and regulations to teams across the business
  • Anticipate and spot legal and business issues in contracts, product development, and customer projects
  • Take on all aspects of the contracting process, including routine activities like filing, contract request tracking, obtaining approvals and signatures, etc.
  • Take ownership of responsibilities, exercise sound judgment in decision making, solve problems and know when problems need to be escalated

The Skills/Experience You Need:

  • Background working in SaaS/tech environment is essential
  • 3+ years’ experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements and software licensing agreements
  • 3+ years’ experience in drafting, managing, and negotiating contracts in an in-house setting
  • 3+ years of experience conducting complex legal research
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and able to manage a large workload with minimal oversight
  • Ability to learn new areas of the law quickly and independently, specifically in relation to web scraping (which include contract, IP, and data protection laws)
