Job description

Caliente Resorts is looking for experienced line cooks to join our team and help to produce all food items in a timely manner according to set recipes, portion control, and visuals. Responsible for daily preparation of food items in the Pantry, Grill, Sauté, Pizza Station and Steam Table Window. There are Full/Part-Time opportunities available.

JOB DUTIES:

• Set up stations according to restaurant guidelines.
• Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
• Follow recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as set by Chef.
• Restock all items as needed throughout shift.
• Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety, sanitation and organizational skills.
• Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in station.
• Assist with cleaning, sanitation and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas.
• Perform additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Chef, Sous Chef or Manager on duty.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
• Must have an understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
• Must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull, carry or drag items weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, this position will spend 100% of the time standing.
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English due to safety and operational needs. Must be able to effectively communicate ideas and instructions.
• Must possess the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.
• Must have problem solving abilities.
• Must have the ability to work in a team environment.
• Must be able to speak, read and understand basic cooking directions.
• Must possess a commitment to quality service and Food & Beverage knowledge.
• Must wear company issued uniform.
• Must use/wear personal protective equipment when necessary.
• Must wear closed toe, non-skid shoes.
• Must be able to reach, stoop, kneel, bend and crouch.

Caliente is a Clothing-Optional Resort and Residential Community. All staff are fully clothed.
