Since 2006, Goldberg and Associates has built a steadfast reputation of success in immigration law. We are growing and are looking for a passionate and driven Federal Litigation Clerk /Paralegal to join our team.

The Federal Litigation Paralegal will manage the responsibilities that include a mix of work including client intake and guidance, legal work including drafting, research, and communications with the Court, clients, and related parties for the Federal Litigation Department. Must have experience with Federal Filling and Federal courts experience.

LOCATION: 5586 Broadway (third floor) Bronx, NY)

SALARY RANGE: $60,000 to $75,000

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of administrative support activities including, but not limited to scheduling and maintaining appointments, Court Hearings, monitoring and following up on due dates.
  • Maintain the infrastructure and organization for all case files in paper and electronically in preparation for further legal proceedings.
  • Coordinate with different departments on case proceedings if needed.
  • Performs legal research including State and Federal Rules, Statutes, Courts' Rules and Judges' Practices.
  • Drafts legal documents, forms, formal discovery requests, interrogatories, notices, motions and summaries of depositions.
  • Format and prepare pleadings in compliance with the Courts, Judges and all applicable rules.
  • Perform traditional and electronic filing in varied State and Federal Courts.
  • Assist attorneys with trial and hearing preparation; format and prepare exhibit list, witness list, and jury instructions; may support attorneys in court and administrative proceedings, as assigned.
  • Responds to inquiries from clients on their cases and provides timely updates
    Required Skills/Abilities:

Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Within the introductory period, obtain a working knowledge of State Bar Law, Rules of

Conduct and procedures as they apply to the performance of major duties and

responsibilities of the position.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Gsuite or related software.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field required
Paralegal certificate is preferred
At least 2 years experience in Immigration is preferred.
