The Novelis North America (NNA) team is seeking a Logistics Manager, Systems. The Logistics Manager is accountable for all systems and processes supporting the Novelis North America Logistics function. As such, this role is responsible for the deployment and ongoing improvements to our Transportation Management System, Visibility platform, as well as their integration with other systems such as ERP (SAP), PowerBI etc.

Specifically, this role coordinates the effective management of the NNA TMS systems (Blue Yonder and Best Transport), FourKites load tracking system and all associated interfaces and reporting requirements. The role is accountable for ensuring system development and improvements to support logistics operations from load building and tendering to carrier freight payment process.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:

  • Supports the development of a long-term vision and roadmap to enhance digital and system capabilities across the NNA Logistics landscape
  • Acts as the single point of contact and guide within NNA Logistics for system enhancements, upgrades and ensure capabilities to meet current and future business requirements. Owner of the relationship with strategic IT vendors (TMS & visibility platforms)
  • Supervises project management of continuous improvement activities and provides facilitation, tracking and reporting of such activities, including service improvement, cost reduction and system enhancements
  • Drives the development and review of processes, procedures, and SOP across the logistics team, particularly as they relate to the use of our TMS and tracking tools for both Novelis internal collaborators and external partner carriers. Responsible for deploying and training the logistics team on the documented protocols.
  • Collaborates in identification of Logistics critical metric and target setting. Supports dashboard creation for tracking and reporting of metrics in PowerBi
  • Builds strong relationships to create a collaborative team environment with multiple subject areas including Supply Chain, Procurement, IT and external system providers
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or similar subject area. Master’s Degree preferred
  • 10+years’ experience required
  • Experience in the field of logistics is required including implementing, and leading logistics systems and processes and knowledge of full cycle logistics operations (carrier management, load tendering, reporting and freight payment)
  • Experience with SAP
  • Continuous Improvement Greenbelt and/or Black belt certification a plus
  • Blue Yonder TMS experience required. Experience managing the operational framework of the TMS to support logistics operations preferred
  • Experience with FourKites tracking system and integration into TMS preferred
  • Data reporting and visualization experience required; proven understanding of MS PowerBi preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills in terms of interfacing efficiently and positively with carriers, customers and all Novelis contacts
  • Project management experience, strong attention to detail
  • Excellent digital literacy, MS Office, database query experience for generating ad-hoc reports
