Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- responsible for the direct supervision of the nursing
- assistant trainees enrolled in The McGuire Group’s nursing assistant training program during their clinical training.
- Determines the nursing assistant trainees resident assignments.
- Assures trainees are competent in performing hands on skills and indirect skills through demonstrations, re- demonstrations and observations of trainees.
- Communicates progress of performance and any safety, infection control, resident rights concerns observed to Associate Director of Nursing, Program Coordinator or their designees as appropriate.
- Identifies the performance strengths and deficits to each trainee. Recommends and provides remediation

Makes frequent rounds to the nursing units for coaching and counseling of certified nursing assistants.
Conducts educational events specifically for certified nursing assistants, in conjunction with the Associate Director of Quality and Education.
- Participates in the clinical orientation program for nurses as assigned by the Associate Director of Quality and Education.

Participates in documentation, medication, treatment, basic care, incontinent care and care touch quality assurance audits as assigned by the Associate Director of Quality and Education.
Requirements:
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Assists in planning, developing, directing, evaluating, and coordinating of Nurses and Nurse Aide training programs.
- New York State Registered Professional Nurse licensure
- Experience in long-term care facility required
- Quality assurance and nurse education experience required
- Able to interpret patient information and make critical decisions about necessary actions regarding infection control and nurse education
- Ability to work well with and show respect toward other health care personnel (i.e., CNAs, LPNs, physicians, etc.), residents and their family members
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness and kindness
- Physical endurance for frequent activity; ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
