Position Purpose
Provides nursing assistance and patient care to provide for the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients. Assists physicians/physician assistants/nurse practitioners in medical office setting. Performs a variety of patient care duties within the construct of a multidisciplinary patient care team as delegated by physician.

Key Responsibilities
  • LPN
    • Works under the direction of the provider and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide professional nursing care for clinic patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations.
    • Triage patients by phone or in person, receiving and implementing telephone physician orders, maintaining clinical communication in a dynamic environment.
    • Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care for both clinic and procedures.
    • Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens.
    • Performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.
    • May perform venipuncture.
  • MA
    • Responsible for patient care under the direct supervision (in the office suite or exam room) of a Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner.
    • Escorts patient to the exam room and prepares patient for the exam including vital stats, history, and reason for seeking care.
    • Cross trains in data entry, balancing of accounts, charge fees and collect payments due, and schedules/confirms appointments.
    • Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens.
    • Performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.
    • May perform venipuncture.
Qualifications
  • LPN Candidates
    • Graduate of a practical or vocational nursing program
    • High school or Equivalent
    • Current, valid Arizona LPN license or compact state LPN/LVN license
    • American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
  • MA Candidates
    • High School or Equivalent
    • American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
    • Must meet one of the following criteria:
      • Has attended a medical assistant training program accredited by one of the following:
        • The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs; or
        • The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools;
      • If attended an MA training program not accredited, must have MA certification such as: NHA - CCMA, AMT - RMA, AAMA - CMA, NCCT - NCMA, or NAHP -NRCMA
        • If needed, we will pay your certification exam fee from NHA-CCMA
      • Has completed a medical services training program of the Armed Forces of the United States
Work Requirements
  • Must be able to distinguish appropriate colors, reach and/or work above and below shoulder level, lift to 50 pounds, walk 90% and sit 10% of shift, frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, standing,and communicating. Expected duties have routine exposure to bloodborne pathogens, and possible exposure to chemicals, and radioactive substances.
