Our current requirement is for an Extruder Operator.
Extruder Operator is a pivotal role in our organization. They are responsible for computerized pasta production equipment operation and maintenance. Also, maintaining Good Manufacturing Processes, quality, safety standards and ensuring the proper blends of raw ingredients used, equipment cleaning and routine sanitizing/maintenance.
Will be trained in Duties and Responsibilities. Must be Capable, Able and Willing to:
- Regularly review Extruder and dryer monitors for correct operational settings according to standard operating procedures;
- Understand, monitor and adjust settings as warranted
- Evaluate and respond to machine stoppages without close supervision.
- Report issues of any significance to Clean Rooms Manager
- Continuously examine output and monitors to maintain lengths, shape and pattern in long &/or short pasta product
- Prepare for shape/die changes according to the production schedule and ensure proper blends of raw materials are used
- Assist in, or conduct change-overs in flavor, shape or quantity
- Assist in, or conduct clean-up of machines, work area, utensils, and all related equipment
- Report safety and quality issues as soon as noted
- Maintain die (selecting, preparing, washing, storing) and perform routine maintenance as assigned (These are 90# bronze die)
- Conduct disposal of waste materials including, but not limited to flour, product waste, cardboard, paper or any waste materials remaining at the end of the shift.
- Other duties as assigned in a clean room environment
Education and experience required
Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution or 2 years experience in a military or computer-driven manufacturing setting.
Previous experience and good aptitude toward production line control computers and/or automated machinery is necessary.
Physical Requirements
Considered candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements without accommodation:
- Balance, bend, crouch, stand, stoop, and reach above shoulders intermittently for full shift
- Must be able to walk around equipment and across production floor multiple time during 8 hour shift
- Must be able to climb stairs and a ladder multiple times during 8-hour shift
- Must be able to work in a flour-dust environment for full shift
- Must be able to work in heat and humidity for full shift
- Must be able to perform simple grasping, push, pull and perform fine manipulation (computer and various controls) for full shift
- Must be able to lift, above waist level, 50 pound bags of flour repetitively during shift
- Must be able to make fine distinctions in sound
- Must be able to express ideas by spoken and written word. Take direction and retain trained practice and procedure
- Must be able to distinguish objects and equipment visually
