PURPOSE -
Maintenance Technician having Electrical and Mechanical repair experience. The job entails maintenance, installation and repairs of high-speed bottling line equipment including but not limited to, pumps, unscramblers, cleaners, fillers, cappers, labelers, packers, sealers, conveyors, palletizers, warehouse equipment and facilities.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES –

  • Perform line changeovers, answer calls and perform repairs as needed.
  • Set up equipment at start of day based on production schedule, make operational adjustments, and shut down equipment per SOP established.
  • Fix operational jams and make operational adjustments as needed.
  • Understand and comply with safety requirements of the position; keep safety top of mind at all times and prevent co-workers from working unsafely. Report all safety concerns and all accidents and near misses immediately. Participate in processing department safety inspections and accident investigations.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and follow Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
  • Complete preventative, predictive, and reactive industrial maintenance throughout the facility.
  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment as a part of general maintenance.
  • Listen for unusual sounds for machines or equipment to detect malfunction, troubleshoot and repair and or retrofit equipment as needed.
  • Remove & replace defective parts. Perform electrical and mechanical repairs as needed.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and program all types of control circuitry from relay logic to programmable logic and variable frequency drives.
  • Must have common troubleshooting ability without the use of schematic diagrams.
  • Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain conduit systems and related electrical equipment.
  • Install, repair, and/or replace control circuitry up to 480 volts.
  • Lead root cause analyses on automation faults.
  • Troubleshoot electrical components from basic receptacle wiring to intricate control circuitry to include transformers, limit switches, hoists, variable frequency drives, controllers, relays, sensors, PLC’s, and all other associated electrical equipment.
  • Continually seek ways to improve performance as measured by departmental KPI's.

Optimize available resources to continuously improve work environment. Effectively communicate interdepartmentally to ensure maximum customer satisfaction. Meet financial objectives by controlling cost, waste and inventory controls without sacrificing quality of products.

  • Recommend ideas to reduce costs.
  • Keep workplace and equipment clean and free of debris at all times.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPENTENCIES-
Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Journeyman

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints and schematic drawings and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic mathematical knowledge.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Requires solid verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills enabling involvement in a cross functional, quality driven team environment.
