Manufacturing Assistant for Large Custom Build Shop

We are currently meeting with qualified candidates to find a high-performance Sign Manufacturing Assistant to help Messenger build high-quality products for our clients. You will assist multiple departments in the setup and manufacturing of commercial grade signage. You will follow blueprints, determine measure, prepare, and assemble materials for final installation. Finally, you must enjoy having fun as part of an amazing, growing team that creates incredible environments.
Founded in 1925, Messenger is an innovative design and fabrication company. Messenger is unique, and our state-of-the-art design studios are backed by our 50,000 square foot production facility in Seattle, making us a one-stop shop for many of our clients. Our facility houses flatbed printing, full-service CNC routing, automotive-grade painting, a metal shop, and a woodshop.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints.
- Preparation of materials for later fabrication (cutting, grinding, polishing, etc).
- Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines.
- Setting up and use machinery including rollers, drill presses, and saws.
- Double-checking design specifications before commencing with work.
- Fabricating and constructing multiple components.
- Some grinding and finishing completed products.
- Performing quality checks on prepared pieces.
- Conforming with state and company safety regulations.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- 1 year work experience in a manufacturing shop.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
- Proficiency with fabrication tools including rollers, drill presses, and saws.
- Ability to lift and manipulate large objects, up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Valid Drivers License required
