The Marketing Assistant supports property management in the marketing, leasing and selling of the property to prospective residents and parents. This position is vital to the implementation of off-site marketing in conjunction with all other marketing and leasing efforts and helps to create and maintain a favorable image of the community to achieve property leasing objectives, public recognition, and a positive reputation within the local community.
Certain activities involved in this position may be photographed and/or video and audio recorded for quality control and/or training purposes. Compliance with the Photo, Video and Voice Recording Policy is a condition of employment.
Critical Duties:


  • Assist in the planning and implementation of both on and off-site marketing efforts including but not limited to: on-campus marketing, orientation marketing, housing fairs, open houses, property events, and general marketing within the community
  • Assist with the implementation of renewal marketing campaigns and renewal events
  • Network and build relationships within the market and university groups and organizations
  • Create and post social media content and assist with the implementation of digital marketing campaigns
  • Understand, support and abide by all American Campus Communities policies and procedures and Fair Housing laws, while providing unparalleled customer service to residents, prospective residents, and parents
Essential Duties (other duties may be assigned) :
  • Conduct all functions necessary to close the sale, including making appointments, generating new leads, conducting tours, maintaining show rooms, and completing any required prospect follow-up in a timely and accurate manner
  • Fully and accurately complete a guest card for each prospective resident contact, whether by phone or in person, and enter into LAMS in a timely and accurate manner
  • Answer leasing phone calls and process online inquiries
  • Exhibit a welcoming and professional attitude at all times when interacting with prospective and current residents and parents
  • Follow guidelines for appropriate attire as outlined by ACC standards and the General Manager
  • Distribute approved materials and messages from the GM by the assigned completion date
  • Maintain a professional attitude and manner in work relationships including encouraging a positive attitude among staff
  • Assists in keeping the community clean by surveying common areas regularly for cleanliness, appearance, and working order
  • Attend and constructively contribute to required staff meetings and any other special meetings
  • Participate in required training which may include evenings, weekdays, and/or weekends

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


To be successful in this position, you should have:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Email and Internet.
  • The ability to understand and adhere to policies and procedures, use basic math skills, and exercise effective verbal and written communication skills with residents and guests.
  • Customer service experience.
