Material Coordinator
Clarke Fire Protection Products, a division of Clarke Power, is recognized worldwide as a leading manufacturer of diesel fire pump engines. We are looking for a Material Coordinator to join our Clarke Fire Team!
This is a great opportunity to join an industry leader! The Material Coordinator is responsible for the active management of internal material demands, managing inventory levels by making purchasing decisions.
What are the Duties?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze and make purchasing decisions thru M2M MRP maintaining adequate parts availability while keeping total inventory valuation at acceptable total levels
- Analyze and act on vendor open order report weekly review for any overdue items & periodic vendor shipment verification
- Subassembly production forecasting and planning for US and UK locations- full cycle management from forecast, purchasing, production, and inventory management
- Analyze and investigate BOM audits & materials issues that are brought to management attention
- Vendor qualification and maintain good working relationships with all key vendor contacts
- Support supplier partner activities for special order materials
- Responsible for control of stock levels and vendor participation in special terms or discounts
- Consignment engine program management and audits
- Physical inventory - Cycle counting / inventory transactions / physical inventory preparation
- Interact with sales to provide support information for new sales activity
- Coordinate and oversee special orders and on-time delivery thru working cross-departmentally with Production, Marketing and Engineering
- Regulatory compliance and processing
- Independently create product configuration rules and guideline to allow for routine, repeatable new order selections
- Assist in engineering special / emergency request ordering & service parts for customer support group
- ERP system support and training, ability to back fill multiple functions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent organization skills to perform effectively in an environment of various levels of complexity and priorities
- Strong communication skills in dealing with both internal and occasionally external customers
- A general knowledge of sound business and management principles strategies is required
- A formal college education is preferred such a 4-year bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, manufacturing, economics or a related field of study
PHYSICAL and SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
- Implement and enforce Health and Safety rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and prescribed instructions.
