BACKGROUND: Plating (Materia Handler’s) is a critical process. Successful platers (Material Handlers) exhibit relevant knowledge, attention to detail, proactive energy and sound judgment. Entry-level platers (Material Handlers) show curiosity and an ability to quickly climb the learning curve, and they take on increasing levels of responsibility as they grow in their knowledge and experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary responsibilities of the Plater (Material Handlers) include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Assist in all tasks involved in plating (Material Handling) operations including:

A. Checking tanks, valves, filters and bringing down baths.

B. Loading batches on racks for plating and personally putting loads into plating solutions.

C. Monitoring and assisting the completion of plating production batches throughout the day.

D. Visually monitoring solution circulation, rack function, pumps, and plumbing during the day.

E. Unloading finished work and transferring work to Final Inspection department.

F. Putting away baths and cleaning out tank when loads are done.

G. Pumping away spent bath to waste treatment/disposal area.

H. Stripping plating tanks and storage tanks as necessary.

I. Reporting and/or performing necessary repairs and maintenance on plating tanks, plumbing lines and filters.

J. Assisting in all other operating tasks necessary for the department to achieve its production goals.

· 2. Assisting and communicating with the Chemical Process Technicians about the operation of plating baths throughout the day and maintaining baths within predetermined operating parameters

· 3. Maintain accurate records of all tank additions.

· 4. Maintain constant communication with Plating (Material Handlers) Department Lead and co-workers regarding bath operations, progress toward goals, spills, repairs and maintenance needs, material shortages, or when quality of work does not meet expectations.

·5. Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area

· 6. Report any safety issues (to include accidents, near misses, spoils and any behavior of co-workers that may result in injury or destruction of company property) to an immediate Manager

· 7. Any other duties assigned by the Department Lead or Production Manager

Job Requirements

MUST PASS E-verify

· 1. Must be able to read and write English.

· 2. Must be capable of: Lifting and carrying of parts (with a partner average parts weigh 40-60 lbs.)

A. Stooping, climbing, or crouching with some frequency.

B. Repetitive movements (grasping, pushing, and pulling)

C. Working independently.

· 3. Must be able to be on your feet all day (standing or walking)

· 4. Must be able to read and understand hazardous labels on chemical containers.

· 5. Must be able to operate a forklift and overhead hoist/crane.

· 6. Reliable attendance and punctuality are a must.

· 7. Ability to work in a team.

· 8. Must have full knowledge of safety rules and procedures and be capable of instructing other employees.

· 9. Ability to work overtime, as needed (up to 10-hour shifts with little notice to complete production)

· 10. Visual inspection of parts for small defects, use of precision measuring instruments, and recording of data.

· 11. Must be capable of basic mathematical calculations using a calculator.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
