Material Handler – Equipment

We seek a results-focused, innovative, customer-centric well-qualified individual to join our talented team as a Material Handler in our Equipment business unit. Based in our Torrington, Connecticut location, you will manageinventory accuracy and material flows by verifying and warehousing incoming materials, transferring parts to production sells, performing cycle counts, maintaining inventory locations, maintaining Kanban systems, completing work orders, putting away finished goods, and liaising between department and Shipping to ensure best practices are adopted within the business unit.

In addition:

• Maintain inventory accuracy by allocating materials to locations and transacting in the ERP, performing cycle counts, and investigating and reporting adjustments as required.
• Manage material flows by verifying and transporting incoming materials from receiving to their storage locations promptly, moving required materials to production cells, and moving completed goods to shipping or their storage locations in a timely manner.
• Maintain best inventory and space management practices by fostering 6-sigma standards such as right-sizing bins and storage locations for materials, down-packing materials into smaller containers, and keeping racks and aisles neat and tidy.
• Ensure shipped items meet delivery deadlines, and customer and costing expectations by accurately preparing and staging materials for shipping according to protocols, procedures, compliance requirements, and legislative regulations.
• Meet department lines shipped on-time requirements by coordinating order planning with the Shipping and Receiving and S&OP teams, and by establishing and managing optimal receiving and shipping planning against scheduling practices and priorities.
• Maintain a safe, healthy, clean, ergonomically sensitive productive workplace by establishing and following best housekeeping practices for equipment, and by practicing and implementing safe lifting and loading techniques.
• Maintain safe internal transportation practices by exceptional secure handling and operation of powerlifting equipment, power jacks, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment.

Requirements

You should have:

• High School diploma
• Required to operate forklift and powerlifting equipment and jacks
• Knowledge and experience working with ERPs (JDE E1 preferred)
• This position requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent organization, communication and problem-solving skills, the ability to work with others and exercise good judgment.
• Must regularly lift weights up to 50lb
• 2+ years of experience in material handling, shipping, and receiving, or other related experience

Salary:$40,700-$49,000

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Dymax salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range. The range listed is just one component of Dymax’s total compensation packages for employees.
