Roles and Responsibilities

• Designs and analyzes mechanical systems, equipment, and packaging. Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Estimates equipment and labor resources required to manufacture new products.
• Participates in customer design reviews and proposes design changes to the customer. Responsibilities will include developing new designs with the customer and providing technical guidance during the customer’s design development.
• Work with manufacturing to resolve problems on new builds and develop robust design solutions to prevent recurring manufacturing issues.
• Contact suppliers and participate in the development of new technologies to support the increasing technical requirements of the Semi-conductor industry.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to apply knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, practices and procedures
• Ability to interact with internal and external customers
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods and occasionally walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

• 2-5+ years engineering or related work experience
• B.S. or equivalent work experience, or any combination of education and experience
• AutoCAD, Inventor, ProE, Solidworks, Unigrafix or other design package experience
