Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Medical Technician III/Certified EMT to support at its Norfolk, VA Ship Repair shipyard.

In this role, the Medical Technician III/Certified EMT promotes worker safety, assisting in managing work-related injuries and illnesses and returning workers to their duties in a caring and efficient manner within their professional scope of care. Responsible to the Medical Department Lead/Supervisor for the maintenance and administration of the occupational health programs. Champions healthy work conditions at the site in support of efforts to reduce or eliminate health hazards for employees. Assists in the administration of the company’s Occupational Health and Safety program, policies, and procedures ensuring compliance with Occupational and Health and Safety regulations set by Federal OSHA and other agencies including Department of Labor, Department of Transportation, Coast Guard, State agencies and various customer requirements.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Typically requires a High School diploma or the equivalent;
• Must have current EMT certification;
• Able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Biometric Identification System badge;
• An excellent communicator;
• Proven interpersonal experience working directly with customers/patients;
• Computer skills to include MS Offfice and industry-related software;
• High level of effectiveness in a changing, fast-paced environment;
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make improvements to the function while driving Safety and Health excellence and performance;
• Collaborative with ability to operate effectively within a highly-matrixed organization;
• Able to comprehend, interpret, and apply Federal OSHA and local codes.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Occupational health background with emphasis in heavy industrial settings.
