We are seeking a MEDICATION ASSISTANT in Woodruff, Wisconsin at Woodruff Hospice House. The Medication Assistant is a member of the patient care team and is responsible for assisting with providing patient care under the general direction of a Registered Nurse. The Medication Assistant works within the Professional Practice Model of Aspirus Wausau Hospital. The Professional Practice Model is a set of values and beliefs that provide a context for a Medication Assistant’s clinical practice and decisions made in the provision of nursing service as defined below:

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completionofa High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience and completion of a nursing assistant course.
• One year of experience as a nursing assistant in an acute care setting beneficial or previous work experience in a post-acute care setting or nursing home beneficial.
• Current Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry Certification required.
• Current WI Medication Assistant Certification.
• Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
