Job description
The Muskogee Public Library Adult Literacy Program provides educational services to help alleviate poverty to adults 18 and over. The program assists adults to become literate and obtain the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and self-sufficiency. This program also allows participants who are parents the opportunity to obtain the skills necessary to become full partners in the educational development of their children. The program also offers English as a Second Language, GED test preparation, U.S. Citizenship test preparation, and adult basic education.

Member Duties : The summer associate will help build capacity of the literacy program by assisting with volunteer tutor recruitment efforts, as well as program participant recruitment. They will also help with the scheduling of services and activities, and finding new ways to reach those in the community who could benefit from the services offered by MPL.
