SUMMARY:
We seek a dedicated and self-motivated individual who will provide excellent guest and team member experiences. You will take direction and be supported primarily from the Senior IT Technician; other sources of direction and support would include the Guest Experience Managers, Senior Regional IT Manager and Finance Director. You will be responsible for identifying, installing, maintaining, and servicing current and new information technology and audio-visual equipment. You will also be responsible for maintaining organized written records and/or verbal communication with the IT and Guest Experience team. You can expect to be welcomed onto our Information Technology team, be willing to learn, and participate in all aspects of Information Technology.

Required Skills
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diagnose IT hardware and software problems
- Ability to trouble shoot and work with existing audio visual systems
- Repair computer equipment (replace power supply, hard disk, etc.)
- Performing routine AV and IT maintenance
- Diagnose problems and relay that information to vendor support and the Senior IT Technician
- Track hardware / software issues with Help Desk software
- Track and inventory physical components of the audiovisual systems. Maintain short and long-term plans for the replacement of current equipment and upgrading obsolete systems
- Support for all departments within Newport Aquarium
- Support IP Telephony
- Basic networking skills (run cables, diagnose connections)
- Maintain audiovisual equipment (support & repair)
- Implement current and possibly formulate new policies and procedures for Exhibits Operations.
- Perform Herschend Family Entertainment Core Values and Newport Aquarium Guest Service Accountabilities, Policies and Procedures, and Safety Protocols.
- Providing end-user support for:
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- 3rd Party applications
- Point of Sale applications
Required Experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
- PC Support experience
- Microsoft Application Support: (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Basic electronic skills
- Ability to work with little or no direct supervision
- Ability to work with other departments
- Understanding of audio/video streaming technologies, a/v file formats
- Knowledge of SysAid Helpdesk software, Cortex Anti-virus, and VMWare helpful but not required
- Knowledge of Alcorn McBride, SymNet, and other a/v manufacturers highly beneficial
- Experience with sound and lighting equipment. Familiarity with Pharos lighting systems a plus
- Experience working with wireless microphone and speaker systems
- Willingness to take direction and coaching from experienced staff members in order to improve your skills and enhance the guest experience
- Must read, write, and speak the English language (knowledge of other languages a plus)
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a constantly changing environment as well as individually, with a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced job and remain courteous, friendly and helpful to guests and team members at all times.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check
- Ability to sit and/or remain on feet for long periods of time, climb stairs, bend and stoop
- Physical strength, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Note: Position may involve exposure to inclement weather, dust, potentially dangerous an unpredictable animal species, and potential dangerous machinery, restraint devices and toxic chemicals and/or drugs. Occasional use of protective clothing or equipment is required e.g. goggles, mask, gloves, and gowns
