Job description

This is a 20-hour-per-week position, Monday – Friday, 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

PURPOSE: To provide transportation while ensuring the health and safety of individuals served in accordance with relevant regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Drive and maintain the vehicle per policy. Secure all consumers in seatbelts or use appropriate safety straps to secure wheelchairs. Transport individuals to and from ES Adult Day Program.
• Complete pre-trip inspections.
• Complete the route sheet daily.
• Clean and disinfect vehicle daily. Maintain cleaning log.
• Assist as liaison with families, caregivers, and advocates as assigned. Document to support communication.
• Ensure client safety and comfort. Perform emergency CPR and First Aid when necessary.
• Report routine maintenance of vehicle and emergency needs to the Community Services Manager.
• Complete Incident Reports on all concerns.
• Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor.

CUSTODIAL DUTIES:

• Clean, mop, and sanitize activity areas, restrooms, and common areas of the building on a regular schedule and in response to specific requests.
• Empty trash and ensure that facilities are sanitary, attractive, and clutter-free.
• Maintain a “critical eye” while working in facilities, in order to spot any exceptions to cleanliness, safety, or appearance and proactively address any defects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Clean driving record.
• Pass testing for controlled substances.
• Pass physical examination.

SKILLS:

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.

ATTRIBUTES:

• Ability to increase knowledge and skills through ongoing training.
• Ability to change directions as required by the organization.
• Self-motivated.
