Offshore Wind Leader
Location: Europe / Ireland, Denmark or Spain

The Opportunity
We are seeking a senior professional who will help to lead and grow our existing Offshore Wind business in the Europe Region, across key strategic markets. This is a very senior role within the Group so your experience should deomonstrate this. You will lead business development activities, working with our existing clients to promote our offshore wind business service offering as well as seeking new opportunities with new clients. The role will require contribution to the overall leadership of Arup’s Energy business in the Europe region as well as representing Arup externally at conferences and other events. The role will demand collaborative working with local and global teams within Arup, and external collaborators, to deliver challenging commissions. The successful candidate will be required to build internal capacity and contribute to the development of the Offshore Wind team, and lead the delivery of projects, ensuring that we deliver excellent service and deliverables to our clients. This will require deep understanding of the challenges and solutions to successfully delivering offshore wind projects in established and emerging markets across the full supply chain.
Key qualities we are looking for in candidates include:
- Excellent experience in business development with an entrepreneurial approach and spirit to developing a business offering
- Proven experience in offshore wind design and technical services
- A consultancy advisory skill set and expertise which could include technology & innovation, regulation & policy, economics & commercial, planning & environmental, and project management.
- A strong technical understanding of a range of solutions, technologies and processes used in offshore wind and renewable energy sectors.
- Established client and supply chain contacts within the renewable energy and related offshore wind design services
- Working knowledge of a broad range of future energy technologies with an overall understanding of how the energy industry is integrated and evolving.
- An ability to support engagement with clients and contractors to prepare high quality, technically efficient and cost-effective project solutions.
- An appreciation of the full lifecycle of assets for concept through to operation and decommissioning to influence better outcomes for clients and projects
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills. Excellent team working and communication skills
- Strong organisation and time management skills with an ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines on multiple projects.
- Analytical and digitally literate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree or higher in a relevant engineering or commercial subject.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in energy or related fields
- Chartered with a relevant institution.
