Online Content Co-Ordinator / RTÉ Online

RTÉ is Ireland's national public-service media organization. A leader in Irish media, RTÉ provides comprehensive, cost-effective, free-to-air multi-media services to the public in Ireland and interested audiences internationally.

At its heart, RTÉ is a creative organization, making and commissioning a broad range of high-quality content to serve multiple platforms and diverse audiences. With that in mind, RTÉ is seeking to recruit a Content Co-Ordinator to work within our Lab team.

RTÉ established The Lab in 2019 to create, curate and commission innovative and engaging original video content for RTÉ’s online platforms; RTÉ Player, RTÉ.ie and RTÉ Radio Player.

Who are we?
The Lab is a multidisciplinary creative team within RTÉ Online with a wide range of experience in TV, Radio and Online. Our skills range from video production, direction & commissioning, photography, multimedia editing, drone operation, social media campaign creation and digital design expertise.

What do we do?
All content currently created or commissioned by The Lab is aimed at 18-44 audience with a focus on the core target audience of 18-30.

What do we want?
We are looking for fresh ideas and fresh thinking, a team player who understands online and social content and knows what content will drive engagement. The Content Co-Ordinator needs to have strong multi-media skills with a strong focus on editing and graphic design. They should show a clear understanding of what content works on which channel and how the same content can be optimized for different channels. We want a highly creative individual, who wants to contribute to the development of new formats and talent.

Candidates will be expected to have some knowledge of RTÉ’s online channels and online content output specifically RTÉ Player Originals.

Key responsibilities:
  • 2+ years’ experience in an online content environment
  • Multi-media skills are essential (Advanced user of Premier Pro and After Effects (or similar))
  • Advanced ability to create graphics packages for use in online short form and social content
  • Ability to create multiple formats for use on different channels
  • Ideate and brainstorm new formats and present new talent and development ideas
  • Work effectively with the online Product teams, the Design Team, the Marketing team and other departments ensuring you maintain excellent relationships throughout
  • Ensure content reflects young, diverse audiences
  • Keep up to date with emerging industry trends
  • Be a team player, help others on the team and work creatively and collaboratively
  • Meet deadlines and plan out workload accordingly
  • Be interested and passionate about VOD products, online streaming, and content



Successful candidates will have the following:
  • An understanding of RTÉ’s online products and content offering
  • Experience of editing online content and social content is essential
  • Use of After Effects and ability to integrate graphics packages is essential
  • Great content ideas, innovation and creative flair
  • Advanced understanding of social media content, channels and ways to interact with audiences online
  • The ability to deliver different content versions and styles to meet the platform need
  • Experience working in a collaborative and creative industry
  • A passion for and an understanding of Public Service Broadcasting
  • A relevant degree or equivalent experience

Appointments will be made on an ongoing full-time contract basis on an appropriate point on (€ 31,004 - €41,797) gross per annum.
